Group Activities

Group interaction can be incredibly important in the early years of a child’s life. Small group activities are great for building healthy relationships, regulating emotions and developing empathy amongst children.

Children learn through observation and observing how their peers solve problems and interact with each other provides valuable learnings. In these groups, children can practise leadership skills as well as teamwork.

In groups, children develop their own voice and shape their perspectives in relation to their peers. They receive social support and encouragement to take risks. This is how they learn.

Play is a natural mode of learning for children in the early years. Early learning settings are equipped and organised to facilitate these learning activities.

Our Bilby’s have been engaging and enjoying group activities. They have enjoyed building relationships while developing language and empathy. Through group songs and story time language, listening skills are developed.

The children also enjoyed making play dough and mark making using water colours, which promote social and physical development.
